Brad Daugherty Autographs
Brad Daugherty, born on October 19, 1965, is a former American professional basketball player who spent his entire career with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Standing at 7'0, Daugherty was a dominant force on the court, known for his scoring ability, rebounding skills, and deft passing. He played for the University of North Carolina Tar Heels from 1982 to 1986, where he was named First-Team All-American in his final year.
In 1986, Daugherty was picked as the first overall pick by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA draft. He made an immediate impact. He went on to become one of the best centers in the league, averaging 19 points and 9 rebounds per game while shooting over 50% from the field. He earned five consecutive All-Star nods from 1988 to 1992 and was named Third-Team All-NBA in 1991. Daugherty's career was cut short due to various back and injury issues. He retired in 1996 at the age of 30, with career averages of 19.0 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game. In honor of his achievements with the team, the Cavaliers retired his number 43 jersey in 1997.
After retiring from basketball, Daugherty transitioned into broadcasting. He has covered NASCAR events for ESPN, ABC, and the now-defunct SPEED channel. Daugherty was inducted into the Ohio Basketball Hall of Fame in 2007 and has become an entrepreneur, owning a vineyard and several car dealerships. Brad Daugherty had a remarkable basketball career, and his legacy is firmly entrenched in the hearts of Cleveland fans.
