Brad Stevens was born on October 22, 1976, in Zionsville, Indiana. He developed an early interest in basketball and played as a point guard for the Zionsville Community High School basketball team. Stevens was an exceptional student, who received academic scholarships to attend basketball camps. After graduation, Stevens took up coaching and landed his first job as an assistant coach at Butler University in 2000. He quickly rose through the ranks and was appointed as the head coach for the Butler Bulldogs men's basketball team in 2007. Stevens led the team to two consecutive NCAA Championship games in 2010 and 2011, establishing Butler's significance as a college basketball powerhouse. His coaching techniques revolved around discipline, hard work, and teamwork, which made him one of the youngest and most successful coaches in NCAA history. In 2013, Stevens was hired as the head coach for the Boston Celtics, one of the most successful franchises in the NBA.

He led the team to three consecutive playoff appearances, earning him the title of NBA Coach of the Year in 2018.
