Brandon Bass is an American retired professional basketball player who was born on April 30, 1985, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He attended Capitol High School in Baton Rouge before committing to play basketball at Louisiana State University. There, he played two seasons with the Tigers and helped lead them to the Final Four in 2006. After declaring himself eligible for the NBA Draft, he was selected in the second round by the New Orleans Hornets in 2005 but was soon traded to the Dallas Mavericks.
Throughout his career, Bass played for several NBA teams, including the Mavericks, the Orlando Magic, the Boston Celtics, the Los Angeles Lakers, and the Clippers. He is best known for his time with the Celtics where he played from 2011 to 2015. During his period in Boston, he was a key member of the team and helped lead them to the playoffs every year.
