Cedric Simmons is a former American professional basketball player, born on January 3, 1986, in Shallotte, North Carolina. He attended West Brunswick High School and honed his basketball skills under the tutelage of Coach Brad Lewis. Cedric's talent and work ethic led him to earn several accolades in high school, including being named a McDonald's All-American candidate.
After a successful high school basketball career, Cedric earned a basketball scholarship to attend North Carolina State University. Cedric's time at NC State was productive, and he averaged 11.8 points and 6.3 rebounds per game during his sophomore year. Simmons declared for the NBA draft in 2006, and he was selected 15th overall by the New Orleans Hornets.
Cedric Simmons played 69 NBA games across two seasons for the Hornets, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Chicago Bulls. Despite his brief career in the NBA, Cedric is remembered for his physicality and defensive prowess. After his NBA career, Simmons played in various international leagues, including Greece, Turkey, and China. Cedric was a talented basketball player in his prime and will always be remembered for his contributions to the sport.
