Cherokee Parks Autographs
Cherokee Parks is a retired American basketball player born in Huntington Beach, California, in 1972. He attended Marina High School, where he quickly established himself as one of the top high school basketball players in the region. After leading his team to a 27-0 record his senior year, Parks was named Southern California player of the year and received a scholarship to play for Duke University.
At Duke, Parks played a pivotal role in the Blue Devils' national championship run in 1991-92, the first of two championships during his four-year college career. After averaging 12 points and 6.9 rebounds per game as a senior, Parks declared for the NBA draft and was selected 12th overall by the Dallas Mavericks in 1995. Over the course of his NBA career, Parks played for six different teams, including the Mavericks, Minnesota Timberwolves, Vancouver Grizzlies, San Antonio Spurs, Los Angeles Clippers, and Golden State Warriors.
Although Parks never became a star in the NBA, he was a valuable role player throughout his career. Standing at 6'11", he was known for his rebounding, shot-blocking, and versatility on the court. He finished his NBA career with averages of 4.4 points and 3.6 rebounds per game. After retiring from professional basketball, Parks became a successful venture capitalist and is currently the managing partner of Secure Identity Technologies.
