Connie Hawkins Autographs
Connie Hawkins was an American professional basketball player who was born on July 17, 1942, in Brooklyn, New York. He started playing basketball on the streets of Brooklyn before joining Boys High School, where he played on the school's basketball team. Hawkins was a phenomenal athlete and his talents on the court made him popular among scouts, but he was barred from playing for college teams or joining the NBA due to allegations about his association with a point-shaving scandal. Despite the scandal, Hawkins continued to play basketball in various leagues, including the American Basketball League (ABL) and the American Basketball Association (ABA).
After several years of showcasing his basketball prowess in various leagues, Hawkins was finally allowed to play in the NBA in the 1969-70 season, where he joined the Phoenix Suns. During his first season, he led the team in scoring and rebounding, becoming the team's star player. He played for the Suns for four seasons before joining the Los Angeles Lakers in 1973, where he played for two seasons before retiring from professional basketball in 1976.
Connie Hawkins is best known for his aerial athleticism, which earned him the nickname "The Hawk." His style of play was ahead of its time and his incredible skills have made him a legend among basketball fans. In recognition of his contributions to the sport of basketball, Hawkins was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1992. Despite the scandal that initially prevented him from playing in the NBA, Connie Hawkins will always be remembered as one of the greatest basketball players of all time.
