Dan Majerle is a retired American professional basketball player who is best known for his career in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was born on September 9, 1965, in Traverse City, Michigan. Majerle played college basketball for Central Michigan University before being drafted in the first round by the Phoenix Suns in 1988. In the NBA, he played for the Suns, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Miami Heat.
Majerle's career highlights include being a three-time NBA All-Star, a three-time NBA three-point shootout champion, and a member of the United States men's basketball team that won a gold medal at the 1994 FIBA World Championship. He also helped lead the Suns to the NBA Finals in 1993. During his 14-year NBA career, he scored a total of 13,017 points and made over 1,500 three-pointers.
