Dave DeBusschere Autographs
Dave DeBusschere was a professional basketball player and coach who was born on October 16, 1940, in Detroit, Michigan. He played for the University of Detroit Mercy where he was an all-American athlete in 1962. After college, DeBusschere was drafted into to the NBA by the Detroit Pistons in 1962. He also played for the New York Knicks and the Detroit Pistons during his basketball career. DeBusschere was known for his exceptional defensive skills and tenacity on the court.
DeBusschere helped the Knicks win two NBA championships in 1970 and 1973, playing alongside legendary players such as Willis Reed and Walt Frazier. He was a five-time NBA All-Star during his playing career, and his defensive skills earned him recognition as the NBA All-Defensive First Team seven times. DeBusschere's impressive skills on both offense and defense earned him an induction into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1983.
After his playing career ended, DeBusschere served as the head coach and general manager of the New York Nets in the late 1970s. He later returned to the New York Knicks organization as the director of basketball operations, and he was instrumental in rebuilding the team in the early 1990s. DeBusschere passed away on May 14, 2003, at the age of 62, but his legacy as one of the greatest basketball players of all time continues today.
