Dave Meyers Autographs
Dave Meyers is a retired American professional basketball player who was born on April 21, 1953, in the city of La Crosse, Wisconsin. Meyers played power forward for the UCLA Bruins and helped them win the National Championship in 1975. He was later drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers in the first round (2nd overall pick) of the 1975 NBA draft. Meyers was known as a versatile player who could score from anywhere on the court and had a great jumping ability that made him a formidable rebounder.
Meyers played six seasons in the NBA, all for the Milwaukee Bucks from 1975-1980 and 1981-1982. His best season was the 1978-1979 campaign when he averaged 12.6 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game, while shooting just over 50% from the field. Meyers was a two-time NBA All-Star in 1978 and 1979 and was named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team in 1976. After six seasons in the league, Meyers retired from professional basketball due to injury issues and went on to pursue a career in coaching.
In recognition of his contributions to the UCLA Bruins basketball program, Meyers was inducted into the UCLA Athletics Hall of Fame in 1995. He is also part of the Pac-12 Conference Hall of Honor, which celebrates former athletes who have made significant contributions to their respective sports. Meyers' legacy continues to live on in the game of basketball, with many young players looking up to him as a role model and inspiration.
