Del Harris Autographs
Del Harris is a retired basketball coach born on June 18, 1937, in Indiana. He is best known for his coaching career in the National Basketball Association (NBA), where he spent 14 seasons coaching several teams. His long and accomplished career in basketball began when he was a high school coach in the 1960s. He later moved up to become the head coach of Earlham College, where he spent ten years, achieving a record of 192-54. Harris was also an assistant coach at several colleges, including Utah State and the University of Wisconsin.
Harris started his professional career as an assistant coach with the Houston Rockets in 1976, where he remained for four years. He then took a head coaching position with the Milwaukee Bucks from 1987 to 1991. During his time with the Bucks, Harris turned the team into a legitimate playoff contender. He then moved on to coach the Los Angeles Lakers from 1994 to 1999, where he made a significant impact on the franchise, leading them to several successful seasons. Harris also coached the Chinese national basketball team between 2004 and 2005.
Throughout his coaching career, Harris has been known for his focus on player development, defense, and teamwork. These strategic tactics led him to be an integral part of many successful teams throughout his career. He has been widely respected by his peers and players for his leadership and his innovative approach to coaching. In 1995, Harris was named NBA Coach of the Year, and his contributions to the sport of basketball have been widely praised. Harris retired in 2006 and continues to be involved in basketball as a writer and consultant.
