Earl Cureton Autographs
Earl Cureton is a retired American professional basketball player. He was born on September 3, 1957, in Detroit, Michigan. Cureton started his basketball career at Finney High School in Detroit, where he played basketball under the guidance of Coach George Tolbert. During his high school career, he helped his team win two city titles.
After high school, Cureton attended the University of Detroit Mercy, where he continued his basketball career. He was part of the university's basketball team from 1975 to 1979, where he was named team captain during his senior year. In his college career, Cureton led the Detroit Titans to the NCAA tournament in 1977, where they lost in the first round. Cureton was drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers in the third round of the 1979 NBA draft. Cureton played for several NBA teams, including the Philadelphia 76ers, Detroit Pistons, Houston Rockets, and New Jersey Nets, before retiring in 1997.
During his 16-year NBA career, Cureton played center and power forward positions, and he was considered a reliable role player by his coaches and teammates. He was particularly known for his rebounding and defense skills. Cureton won two NBA championships with the Detroit Pistons in 1989 and 1990. After retirement, he became a scout for the Detroit Pistons and later a player development coach for the New Jersey Nets. Cureton's basketball career is a testament to his hard work, dedication, and perseverance.
