In 2004, Okafor was selected by the Charlotte Bobcats as the second overall pick in the NBA Draft. He quickly established himself as one of the league's top big men, earning the Rookie of the Year award in his first season. He spent five seasons with the Bobcats, earning All-Star honors in 2007.
