Erick Strickland Autographs
Erick Strickland is a former American professional basketball player who was born on November 25, 1973, in Opelousas, Louisiana. He developed an interest in basketball at an early age and was able to hone his skills by competing in junior high school and high school. Strickland attended Odessa College, where he played two seasons of college basketball before transferring to the University of Nebraska. He gained national attention for his high-scoring performances and was selected by the New York Knicks in the second round (53rd overall) of the 1996 NBA draft.
Strickland played for nine years in the NBA, beginning with a stint with the Knicks during the 1996-97 season. After three seasons in New York, he briefly played for the Vancouver Grizzlies before being traded to the Boston Celtics. He had his most productive years while playing for the Celtics, averaging 9.6 points, 1.2 steals, and 2.2 assists per game during the 2001-02 season. Strickland also played for the Indiana Pacers, Milwaukee Bucks, and Miami Heat before retiring in 2005.
Throughout his basketball career, Strickland was known for his excellent perimeter shooting, quickness, and strong work ethic. He played primarily as a shooting guard and small forward and contributed to his teams with his scoring abilities, on-ball defense, and high energy. In addition to his NBA career, Strickland also played overseas in Turkey and Italy. After his retirement, he transitioned into coaching and served as an assistant coach for the Dallas Mavericks and Boston Celtics.
