Flip Saunders Autographs
Flip Saunders is one of the most successful and respected coaches in the history of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was born on February 23, 1955, in Cleveland, Ohio. Saunders played point guard for the University of Minnesota before starting his coaching career as an assistant coach at the same institution. Saunders got his first chance as a head coach in the NBA in 1995, when he was hired to lead the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Saunders quickly became a successful coach, leading the Timberwolves to their first-ever playoff appearance in the 1996-1997 season. He continued to guide the team to the playoffs for eight consecutive seasons, including a trip to the Western Conference Finals in 2004. Saunders was also the head coach of the Detroit Pistons from 2005 to 2008, leading the team to three straight Eastern Conference Finals appearances, and the Washington Wizards from 2009 to 2012.
In addition to his coaching success, Saunders was also known for his strategic mind and innovative approach to the game. He was a student of the game and constantly worked to improve his teams' performances, both on and off the court. Saunders unfortunately passed away on October 25, 2015, at the age of 60 due to Hodgkin's lymphoma. He left behind a legacy as one of the most admired and respected figures in the basketball community.
