George McCloud Autographs
George McCloud was born on June 27, 1967, in Flint, Michigan. He is best known for his successful professional basketball career, which spanned over 12 years. McCloud attended the University of Florida, where he played for the school's basketball team, the Florida Gators. In college, he was named the Southeastern Conference Player of the Year in 1989 and was a consensus All-American in 1990, his senior year.
After graduation, McCloud was selected by the Indiana Pacers with the seventh overall pick in the 1990 NBA Draft. He played for the Pacers for three seasons before being traded to the Portland Trail Blazers, where he played for two seasons. In 1995, McCloud was signed as a free agent by the Dallas Mavericks, where he had his most successful years. During his four seasons with the Mavericks, McCloud set several franchise records, including most three-pointers in a single season and most three-pointers in a career.
Overall, McCloud played 805 games in the NBA, averaging 9.2 points, three rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game. He was a prolific three-point shooter, making a total of 928 three-pointers in his NBA career. Since retiring from basketball, McCloud has remained involved in the sport as a coach and broadcaster. He has worked as a color commentator for college basketball games and has also served as an assistant coach for several NBA teams.
