At Ohio State University, Oden continued to make a name for himself as a dominant force in college basketball. In his freshman year, the Buckeyes reached the 2007 NCAA championship game before losing to the Florida Gators. Oden was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player and became the number one overall pick in the 2007 NBA Draft, selected by the Portland Trail Blazers.

Unfortunately, Oden's professional career didn't go as expected, as he battled with injuries that hampered his time on the court. Over the next few seasons, he played only 82 games in total, with his best season being in 2009-10 when he averaged 11.1 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks per game. Oden retired from professional basketball in 2016, having played six seasons in the NBA. Despite the setbacks, he remains a celebrated basketball player and a symbol of overcoming adversity for his determination to reach the top. Read even more about Greg Oden at Wikipedia
