Greg Stiemsma Autographs
Greg Stiemsma is a retired American professional basketball player who played as a center in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Born on September 26, 1985, in Randolph, Wisconsin, Stiemsma played college basketball at the University of Wisconsin, where he helped the Wisconsin Badgers reach the NCAA Sweet Sixteen in 2008. However, Stiemsma went undrafted in the 2008 NBA draft and played his first professional basketball in Europe.
Stiemsma made his NBA debut with the Boston Celtics in 2011 after impressing in the Celtics' training camp. He was soon moved to the starting lineup due to his strong defense skills and shot-blocking ability. Stiemsma played an instrumental role in the Celtics' playoff run that year, and they made it to the Eastern Conference Finals. He also played for other NBA teams, including the Minnesota Timberwolves, New Orleans Pelicans, and Toronto Raptors, before retiring in 2017. Stiemsma finished his NBA career with an average of 2.9 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.0 blocks per game.
Aside from his professional career, Stiemsma has also played for the United States men's national basketball team, winning a bronze medal at the 2015 Pan American Games. In 2018, he was appointed as the head coach of the Wisconsin Herd, the Milwaukee Bucks' NBA G League affiliate. Stiemsma is highly renowned for his strong defense skills and remains one of the most popular players in the Wisconsin basketball community.
