Hank Finkel was born in Uniontown, Pennsylvania on October 24, 1942. Standing at a towering height of 7 feet, he was a basketball player who achieved significant milestones during his career. Hank attended Dayton University, where he played for the Flyers in the 1960s. During his college days, he was part of the team that reached the NCAA Tournament's championship game in 1967. Hank began his professional career with the Boston Celtics after being drafted by the team in 1969. He became known for his rebounding ability as a backup center for future Hall of Famer Dave Cowens. Finkel played intermittently for the Celtics in his first few seasons, but his peak year came in 1972-73, where he played in all 82 games for the Celtics, averaging 9.3 points and 7.3 rebounds per game.
