Henry Bibby Autographs
Henry Bibby is a retired basketball player and coach hailing from the United States. He was born on November 24, 1949, in Franklinton, North Carolina. Bibby rose to prominence in the 1970s and 1980s as a point guard for the UCLA Bruins men's basketball team. During his time at UCLA, Bibby helped lead the Bruins to three consecutive national championships from 1970 to 1972.
Bibby's professional basketball career started when he was drafted by the New York Knicks in the second round of the 1972 NBA draft. He played for a number of teams in his twelve year NBA career, including the Philadelphia 76ers, San Diego Clippers, and the Los Angeles Lakers. During his career, Bibby was known for his quick hands, excellent court vision, and his ability to make clutch shots. He also participated in the 1980 NBA Finals with the Lakers, where he won an NBA Championship. In total, Bibby averaged 8.6 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game over his NBA career.
After retiring from playing, Bibby switched to coaching, starting with the women's basketball team at USC. He then moved to the Philadelphia 76ers in the NBA as an assistant coach, helping them reach the NBA Finals in 2001. Since then, Bibby has also coached in the NBA Development League, as well as at the college level for programs such as USC, Memphis, and The College of William & Mary. Bibby may have had a successful playing career, but his coaching career has been nothing to sneeze at, having achieved notable success on that front as well.
