Jarell Martin is an American professional basketball player who currently plays for the Shenzhen Aviators of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA). He was born on May 24, 1994, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and played high school basketball at Madison Preparatory Academy in Baton Rouge. After graduating from high school, Martin committed to play for Louisiana State University (LSU), where he had a standout college basketball career.
During his two seasons with the LSU Tigers, Martin averaged 13.7 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game. In his sophomore season, he was named First-Team All-SEC and led the Tigers to the NCAA Tournament. His impressive college career caught the attention of NBA scouts, and he was selected 25th overall by the Memphis Grizzlies in the 2015 NBA Draft.
Martin played three seasons in the NBA, spending time with the Grizzlies, Orlando Magic, and Cleveland Cavaliers. He also played for the Stockton Kings in the NBA G League. In 2019, he signed with the Shenzhen Aviators and had a strong debut season, averaging 25.2 points, 13.9 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game. Martin's basketball career continues to thrive, and he remains a formidable force on the court.
