Jason Hart is a retired American professional basketball player who was born on April 29, 1978, in Inglewood, California. Hart attended Inglewood High School, where he began his basketball career. He was a standout player in high school and earned a scholarship to play for Syracuse University. Hart played for Syracuse from 1996 to 2000, where he was a four-year starter and helped the team reach the NCAA Tournament all four years. He was also named to the Big East All-Rookie Team in his freshman year and the All-Big East Second Team in his junior and senior years. Hart finished his college career with 1,378 points, 572 assists, and 222 steals.
After college, Hart was selected by the Milwaukee Bucks in the second round of the 2000 NBA draft. However, he did not play for the Bucks and was traded to the San Antonio Spurs, where he played for one season. Hart went on to play for several other NBA teams, including the Charlotte Bobcats, Sacramento Kings, Los Angeles Clippers, and Utah Jazz, over the course of his career. He also played for various teams overseas, including clubs in Greece, Spain, and Italy. Throughout his professional basketball career, Hart was known for his defensive skills, toughness, and leadership on the court.
Hart retired from professional basketball in 2011 and has since transitioned into coaching. He began his coaching career as an assistant coach for the Los Angeles Lakers in 2013 and has also served as an assistant coach for the Utah Jazz and the Memphis Grizzlies. In 2018, Hart was named the head coach of the Sierra Canyon School boys’ basketball team in Chatsworth, California.
