Jim Calhoun is a widely-respected former collegiate basketball coach with a decorated career. He was born on May 10th, 1942, in Braintree, Massachusetts. Calhoun grew up in a family of ten children, and he developed a passion for basketball from a very young age. In high school, Calhoun was a standout player and went on to play college basketball at American International College. After graduating college, Calhoun began his coaching career, starting at Old Lyme High School in Connecticut. He quickly transformed the program into an elite program, leading the Huskies to three national championships in 1999, 2004, and 2011.
