Jimmy Jones Autographs
Jimmy Jones is a former professional baseball pitcher who played for several teams during his career in Major League Baseball (MLB). He was born on January 2, 1964, in Dallas, Texas, and attended the University of Oklahoma before being drafted by the San Diego Padres in the second round of the 1983 MLB draft. Jones made his MLB debut for the Padres in 1986 and spent four seasons with the team before being traded to the Houston Astros in 1990.
During his career, Jones was known for his hard-throwing fastball and his ability to strike out batters. He had a career record of 43-55 with an earned run average (ERA) of 4.36 and 611 strikeouts in 878 innings pitched. Jones' best season came in 1992 when he went 10-6 with a 2.94 ERA for the Astros and finished 11th in the National League Cy Young Award voting.
After playing for the Astros, Jones went on to pitch for the Cleveland Indians, the Chicago Cubs, and the Oakland Athletics before retiring in 2000. Although he never won a championship, Jones was a respected pitcher who made valuable contributions to his teams throughout his career. Today, he is remembered as one of the top pitchers of his era and as a key part of several successful MLB teams.
