JJ Hickson Autographs
JJ Hickson was born on September 4, 1988, in Atlanta, Georgia, and grew up playing basketball with his older brother. He attended Joseph Wheeler High School in Marietta, where he was a highly talented player and earned the title of 2007 Georgia Mr. Basketball. After graduating from high school, Hickson chose to play for North Carolina State University, where he spent one year before declaring for the NBA draft.
Hickson was selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the first round of the 2008 NBA draft as the 19th overall pick. He played for the Cavaliers for three seasons before being traded to the Sacramento Kings in 2011. After one season in Sacramento, Hickson joined the Portland Trail Blazers, where he had a career-best season in 2012-2013, averaging 12.7 points and 10.4 rebounds per game. Hickson also played for the Denver Nuggets and Washington Wizards before leaving the NBA in 2018 to play overseas in China.
Throughout his professional basketball career, Hickson made significant contributions to his teams as a power forward and center. He was known for his physicality on the court, his rebounding abilities, and his ability to score from close range. Despite facing some career setbacks, Hickson remained committed to his passion for basketball and continued to demonstrate his love for the game throughout his career.
