John Crotty Autographs
John Crotty was born on July 15, 1969, in Jersey City, New Jersey. He was an outstanding athlete from an early age and excelled in basketball throughout his high school years. After graduating from St. Anthony High School in Jersey City, he received a scholarship to play basketball at the University of Virginia, where he played point guard for four years.
After college, Crotty went undrafted in the 1991 NBA draft but was signed by the Utah Jazz, where he spent his first two seasons. He then played for several teams over his 11-year NBA career, including the Miami Heat, Cleveland Cavaliers, Portland Trail Blazers, Seattle SuperSonics, and Detroit Pistons. Crotty was known for his sharpshooting and ability to run an offense, and he finished his career with averages of 8.0 points and 4.2 assists per game.
Although Crotty’s NBA career was not outstanding, he is still a respected figure in the basketball community. He has been involved in various initiatives and coaching roles in basketball, including serving as an assistant coach for the Miami Heat from 2008-2010. He has also been a color commentator and analyst for several broadcasts, continuing his involvement in basketball long after his playing career ended.
