Jordan Hill is a retired American professional basketball player who enjoyed an illustrious career in the National Basketball Association (NBA) playing for various teams. Born on July 27, 1987, in Atlanta, Georgia, Hill grew up in the state and developed a passion for basketball at an early age. He attended the University of Arizona, where he honed his skills and helped the team to reach the NCAA Tournament's elite eight round in 2008. During the season, he averaged 13.2 points and 7.9 rebounds per game, earning him All-Pac-10 First Team honors.
In 2009, the New York Knicks selected Hill with the eighth overall pick in the NBA draft, beginning his professional career in the league. He spent his rookie season with the team, playing in 24 games and averaging four points and 2.5 rebounds per game before being traded to the Houston Rockets the following season. While with the Rockets, he had a breakout 2010-2011 season, setting career-highs in scoring and rebounding, averaging 12.6 points and 6.8 rebounds per game, respectively. Hill played for several other teams during his NBA career, including the Los Angeles Lakers, Indiana Pacers, and Minnesota Timberwolves, retiring in 2017.
Throughout his professional basketball career, Hill was known for his athleticism, speed, and versatility on the court. He was an excellent rebounder and could score from the perimeter as well as the low post.
