Julian Wright is an American former professional basketball player. Born on May 20, 1987, in Chicago, Illinois, Wright started playing basketball at an early age. He attended Homewood-Flossmoor High School and was a standout athlete, leading his team to a 30-2 record during his senior year. He also received numerous accolades, including the Chicago Sun-Times Player of the Year and the Illinois Mr. Basketball award.
After high school, Julian enrolled at the University of Kansas, where he continued his basketball career. He played for the Jayhawks for two years, helping the team reach the Elite Eight in the NCAA Tournament in both seasons. Wright was a first-round pick in the 2007 NBA draft, selected 13th overall by the New Orleans Hornets. He played for the Hornets for three seasons before being traded to the Toronto Raptors. Wright also had stints with the Dallas Mavericks and the D-League before retiring from professional basketball in 2016.
Throughout his basketball career, Julian Wright was known for his athleticism and versatility on the court.
