Kelly Tripucka Autographs
Kelly Tripucka is a former professional basketball player who was born on February 16, 1959, in Glen Ridge, New Jersey. Tripucka is the eldest son of former NBA player Frank Tripucka. He attended Bloomfield High School and then moved on to play college basketball for the University of Notre Dame. At Notre Dame, Tripucka became one of the top players in the country and led his team to the NCAA Tournament in 1978 and 1979.
In 1981, Tripucka was drafted as the 12th overall pick by the Detroit Pistons. It was during his time in Detroit that Tripucka gained popularity and was widely known for his scoring ability. He was named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team in 1982 and was selected for the NBA All-Star Game the following year. Tripucka left Detroit and played for Utah Jazz, Charlotte Hornets, and the Los Angeles Lakers, before retiring after the 1991-92 NBA season. Throughout his professional career, he tallied 12,142 points and an impressive 4,101 rebounds.
After retiring from basketball, Tripucka worked as a TV commentator for NBA games and later moved to the finance industry where he worked as a stockbroker. In 2006, he was inducted into the Notre Dame Athletics Hall of Fame, and in 2015, his jersey was retired by the Notre Dame basketball team. Kelly Tripucka remains revered by basketball fans for his significant contribution to the sport during his active years, and he continues to be a role model for upcoming basketball players.
