Kenrich Williams is a professional basketball player who was born on December 2, 1994, in Waco, Texas. He attended University High School, where he played basketball and was named the 2013-2014 District 17-4A Player of the Year. He went on to attend Texas Christian University (TCU), where he played for the TCU Horned Frogs for four years. During his senior year, he averaged 13.2 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game, and was named to the First Team All-Big 12 Conference.
In 2018, Williams went undrafted, but he signed a two-way contract with the Denver Nuggets where he played for their G-League affiliate, the Rio Grande Valley Vipers. In February 2019, he was signed to a 10-day contract with the New Orleans Pelicans and had an impressive game with 8 points, 16 rebounds, and 3 assists. He was later signed to a multi-year deal with the Pelicans and has been playing for them ever since.
During the 2020-21 NBA season, Williams had a breakout year, where he averaged 7.8 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game. He also became known for his defensive skills, averaging 1.1 steals per game. He was named the Pelicans' starting small forward for most of the season, and his strong play earned him a spot on the USA Men's Basketball select team in July 2021. At only 26 years old, Williams' future in the NBA looks bright.
