Lou Williams is an American shooting guard for the Atlanta Hawks in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was born in Memphis, Tennessee on October 27, 1986. Williams is known for his scoring ability, playmaking skills, and leadership qualities. He played his college basketball at South Gwinnett High School in Snellville and was a highly recruited player, ultimately deciding to skip college and was drafted 45th overall in the 2005 NBA draft by the Philadelphia 76ers. Williams began his professional career with the Philadelphia 76ers in 2005. During his time in Philadelphia, he was recognized as one of the NBA’s top bench players. Williams was a consistent scorer for the 76ers and played an integral role in their postseason success. He won the NBA Sixth Man of the Year Award in 2015 while playing for the Toronto Raptors.
