Luther Head is a retired American professional basketball player known for his impressive skills on the court. Born on November 26, 1982, in Chicago, Illinois, Head attended Manley Career Academy High School where he played basketball competitively. He then attended the University of Illinois, where he became one of the top players in the country.
Head's basketball career began in 2005 when he was drafted by the Houston Rockets as the 24th overall pick. Luther played for the Rockets for three seasons, showing off his skills as a talented scoring guard. In 2007, he earned a spot on the NBA All-Rookie Second Team due to his exceptional performance during his debut season. Over the course of his professional career, Head also played for the Miami Heat, Sacramento Kings, and Memphis Grizzlies.
During his professional career, Head averaged 8.2 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.9 assists. Head was known for his quickness, agility, and ability to score from long-range effortlessly. He was also the first player on his college team to make 100 three-pointers in a season. After retiring from basketball, Head has continued to work in the field as a coach and mentor to young players who aspire to follow in his footsteps.
