Mike Gminski Autographs
Mike Gminski is a retired American professional basketball player who spent almost a decade playing in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Born on August 3, 1959, in Monroe, Connecticut, Gminski grew up in a family with a strong passion for sports. He honed his basketball skills at Masuk High School, where he was an outstanding athlete, averaging 28.4 points and 13.5 rebounds per game. Gminski attended Duke University, where he played for the Duke Blue Devils from 1976 to 1980.
During his college basketball career, Gminski became one of the most prolific players in Duke's history. He helped lead the team to the NCAA Championship game in 1978, in which they lost to the Kentucky Wildcats. Gminski is still Duke's all-time leader in rebounds (1,242) and second all-time in points scored (2,323). He was a three-time All-Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) selection, a two-time ACC Player of the Year, and a two-time first-team All-American. In 1980, Gminski was drafted seventh overall by the New Jersey Nets.
In his nine-season NBA career, Gminski played for four different teams, including the New Jersey Nets, Philadelphia 76ers, Charlotte Hornets, and Milwaukee Bucks. He was an excellent inside scorer and a solid rebounder, averaging 11.7 points and 6.9 rebounds per game throughout his career. Gminski has become a renowned commentator, covering college basketball and the NBA for many years after his playing days ended. In recognition of his outstanding basketball career, Gminski was inducted into the Duke Sports Hall of Fame in 1990.
