Tyrone Curtis "Muggsy" Bogues was born on January 9, 1965, in Baltimore, Maryland. Despite his small stature of just 5'3", he became one of the most successful point guards in the history of college and professional basketball. Bogues played college basketball at Wake Forest University from 1983 to 1987, where he became the first player in ACC history to record 1,000 points, 500 assists, 200 steals, and 200 rebounds. He played for the Bullets for four seasons before being traded to the Charlotte Hornets in 1991. During his ten seasons with the Hornets, Bogues established himself as a fan favorite and a key player on the team, averaging 9.4 points and 8.8 assists per game during his time in Charlotte.
