Nikola Mirotic is a professional basketball player hailing from Montenegro. He was born on February 11th, 1991, in Titograd, Montenegro, and raised in Spain. He began his basketball career in Spain, playing for Real Madrid, where he won multiple domestic and international titles. Mirotic was drafted 23rd overall by the Houston Rockets in 2011 but was traded on draft night to the Chicago Bulls.
Mirotic played for the Bulls from 2014 to 2018 and became a key player in the team's rotation. He was named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team in 2015 and set a Bulls record for most three-pointers in a rookie season. During his time with the Bulls, Mirotic made the playoffs twice and had a career-high scoring average of 16.8 points per game during the 2017-2018 season.
Mirotic was traded to the New Orleans Pelicans in the middle of the 2018-2019 season and continued to play at a high level. He helped lead the Pelicans to the playoffs in his first season with the team, where he had a standout performance in a series against the Portland Trail Blazers. Mirotic announced in June 2019 that he would be leaving the NBA to play in Europe. He currently plays for FC Barcelona in the EuroLeague, where he continues to excel on the court. Overall, Nikola Mirotic's basketball career has been filled with success, and he has established himself as one of the top international players in the sport.
