Paul Zipser Autographs
Paul Zipser is a retired German professional basketball player who was born in Heidelberg, Germany, on February 18, 1994. His basketball career began in his hometown, where he played for SG Heidelberg's youth team from 2000 to 2011. He received several accolades and awards during his junior career, culminating in his selection to the German U20 national team in 2013.
After gaining attention as a standout player in the German youth league, Zipser signed a contract with Bayern Munich, one of the top teams in the German Basketball Bundesliga. In four seasons with the club, he displayed his skills on both ends of the court and emerged as one of the best young talents in Germany. He was named the BBL Best Young Player in 2015 and helped Bayern win the BBL championship in 2014 and 2018. He also played in the EuroLeague during his time with Bayern, averaging 8.0 points and 3.6 rebounds per game in 2017.
Zipser's impressive performances caught the eye of NBA scouts, and he was drafted by the Chicago Bulls in the second round of the 2016 NBA draft. He played two seasons for the Bulls, averaging 4.0 points and 2.4 rebounds per game over 98 games. Although he struggled with injuries during his time in the NBA, he remained a valuable contributor and showed flashes of the potential that had made him a sought-after prospect in Europe. In 2019, he returned to Germany to play for FC Bayern Munich before retiring due to ongoing injury issues in 2020.
