Raef LaFrentz Autographs
Raef LaFrentz is a former professional basketball player from the United States. LaFrentz was born on May 29, 1976, in Hampton, Iowa. Throughout his high school career at MFL MarMac High School, he was considered one of the best basketball players in Iowa. In fact, LaFrentz was named the 1994 Iowa Mr. Basketball and Player of the Year. Due to his success on the court, he was offered a scholarship to play for the University of Kansas Jayhawks.
LaFrentz played four years at Kansas and became one of the best players in their history. Over his career, he scored 2,066 points, grabbed 1,186 rebounds, and recorded 346 blocks, which are all top-ten records in Jayhawks' history. In his senior year, he was named Big 12 Conference Player of the Year and First-Team All-American. Kansas went on to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen, where they lost to eventual champions, the Arizona Wildcats. After his college career, he was selected by the Denver Nuggets in the 1998 NBA Draft.
LaFrentz's professional basketball career spanned eleven years, and he played for several teams, including the Nuggets, Dallas Mavericks, Boston Celtics, Portland Trail Blazers, and Washington Wizards. In the 2000-2001 season, he recorded his best statistical year, averaging 14.9 points and 7.7 rebounds per game. While he never won a championship or received any significant individual awards, LaFrentz was known as a dominant big man who could shoot the three-ball well. He retired in 2009 with career averages of 10.1 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks per game.
