Ralph Simpson Autographs
Ralph Simpson is a retired basketball player and former Denver Nuggets star who rose to fame in the 1970s. Born in Detroit, Michigan in 1949, Simpson was known for his athletic ability and impressive speed on the court. He attended Michigan State University, where he played for the Spartans under future Hall of Fame coach, Jud Heathcote. While at Michigan State, Simpson was named an All-American and earned the nickname "Big O" due to his playing style, which was reminiscent of Oscar Robertson.
Simpson's professional career began in 1970 when he was drafted in the first round by the Denver Nuggets. He quickly became one of the best players for the Nuggets, averaging over 20 points a game for four consecutive seasons. Simpson brought speed and athleticism to the team, often making acrobatic moves on the court that left fans in awe. His skills helped the Nuggets in their first-ever playoff appearance in the 1975-76 season, and he played a significant role in the team's success.
In addition to his time with the Nuggets, Simpson also played for the Detroit Pistons and the Philadelphia 76ers. In 1980, he retired from professional basketball and returned to Michigan State University to earn a degree in education. Although his time in the NBA was relatively short, Ralph Simpson left a lasting impact on the game.
