Richie Guerin Autographs
Richie Guerin was a professional basketball player who was born on May 29th, 1932, in The Bronx, New York. He attended Iona College from 1950 to 1954, where he played for the Iona Gaels. In 1954, he was drafted by the New York Knicks in the second round of the NBA draft. He quickly became one of the league's top players, and his scoring ability and playmaking skills helped lead the Knicks to the playoffs in six of his first seven seasons. During his career, Guerin was a six-time NBA All-Star and a three-time All-NBA First Team selection.
In 1963, Guerin was traded to the St. Louis Hawks, where he played for two seasons before finishing his career with the Atlanta Hawks. In 1971, he was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. After retiring as a player, Guerin went on to have a successful coaching career, serving as the head coach of the Hawks, the Seattle SuperSonics, and the New York Knicks. He later served as the general manager of the Knicks, and in 1996, he was named the NBA's Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations.
Throughout his basketball career, Richie Guerin was known for his flashy style of play and his ability to score from almost anywhere on the court. He was also an excellent passer and rebounder, and he could often be seen driving to the basket and scoring acrobatic layups or dunks. Guerin was a versatile player who could play multiple positions, and his leadership and intensity on the court made him a valuable asset to any team he played for. Today, he is remembered as one of the greatest players in the history of the NBA.
