Rip Hamilton Autographs
Richard “Rip” Hamilton was born on February 14, 1978, in Coatesville, Pennsylvania. Hamilton was a star basketball player at Coatesville High School, where he earned the title of “Mr. Pennsylvania Basketball” in 1996. He then attended the University of Connecticut, where he played for the UConn Huskies men’s basketball team from 1996 to 1999. During his college career, Hamilton was a key player in leading the team to the 1999 NCAA National Championship. He was drafted in the first round of the 1999 NBA Draft by the Washington Wizards.
Hamilton had a successful NBA career that spanned over 14 seasons. He played for three different NBA teams, including the Washington Wizards, Detroit Pistons, and Chicago Bulls. Hamilton became a fan favorite during his time with the Detroit Pistons, where he played for nine seasons and won an NBA Championship in 2004. He was known for his excellent shooting skills and his signature mid-range shot, which he perfected during his time with the Pistons.
Hamilton retired from the NBA in 2013 with career statistics of 17.1 points per game, 3.1 rebounds per game, and 3.4 assists per game. He was a three-time NBA All-Star, and his number 32 jersey was retired by the Detroit Pistons in 2017. Hamilton is now a commentator for TNT and NBA TV and is still involved in the basketball world through various coaching clinics and camps.
