Ron Boone Autographs
Born on September 6, 1946, in Oklahoma City, Ronald Bruce Boone is a retired professional Basketball player. Boone was a standout player in his college team at Idaho State University, where he played 3 seasons from 1964-1967. Boon was a two-time Big Sky Conference selection for his performance on the court, and he led the Big Sky Conference in scoring during 1967 with an average of 32.7 points per game.
Boone's professional career started in 1969 when he was drafted by the Dallas Chaparrals of the American Basketball Association (ABA). Over the next 6 seasons, Boone played for the Chaparrals, the Utah Stars, and the Spirits of St. Louis, becoming a 4-time ABA All-Star. He was not only a talented scorer but also an excellent defender, earning him the nickname "Super Sop." In 1974, Boone won the ABA championship with the Stars, and to this day, he remains the all-time leading scorer in Utah Stars history.
After the ABA-NBA merger in 1976, Boone went on to play for the Kansas City Kings, the Denver Nuggets, and the Los Angeles Lakers. Boone recorded career stats of 17.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 3.7 assists in 1048 professional games played over his 13-year career. Boone retired in 1981 and was inducted into the Utah Sports Hall of Fame in 2000. Boone is still active in the NBA community and is a member of the Utah Jazz's broadcasting team since 1991.
