Ivey's professional career began in 2004 when he was drafted 37th overall by the Atlanta Hawks. He played for the Hawks for two seasons before joining the Milwaukee Bucks in 2006. During his time with the Bucks, Ivey established himself as a valuable role player, known for his defensive skills and ability to knock down outside shots. In 2008, he was traded to the Philadelphia 76ers, where he played for three seasons before being traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Ivey played for the Thunder from 2010 to 2012, making it to the NBA finals in 2012 but lost to the Miami Heat.
