Sam Lacey Autographs

Sam Lacey was a well-known figure in the basketball world and is considered one of the greatest centers of his time. Born on March 28, 1948, in Indianola, Mississippi, Lacey began his basketball career as a high school player. After graduating, he attended New Mexico State University, where he continued to play basketball and quickly established himself as a dominant force on the court. During his college years, he was known for his defensive skills and his ability to block shots.
After completing college, Lacey was selected by the Cincinnati Royals in the first round of the 1970 NBA draft. He played for the Royals for six seasons, becoming one of the team's top players. During his time with the Royals, he averaged 13.1 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 2.6 blocks per game. In 1976, he was traded to the Kansas City Kings, where he finished his career. Lacey was a seven-time NBA All-Defensive Team selection and was named to the All-NBA Second Team in 1975. He also participated in the NBA All-Star Game twice, in 1975 and 1976.
Throughout his basketball career, Sam Lacey was known for his tough defense, rebounding skills, and shot-blocking abilities. His defensive skills earned him the nickname "The Human Eraser," and he was known for his tenacity and ability to intimidate opponents. In 1999, Lacey was inducted into the New Mexico State University Athletics Hall of Fame. Sadly, Lacey passed away on March 14, 2014, at the age of 65, leaving behind an impressive legacy in the basketball world. Sam Lacey was a true legend of the game, and his contributions to the sport will be remembered for many years to come.
