Samuel Dalembert Autographs
Samuel Dalembert is a Haitian-Canadian former professional basketball player who played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for over a decade. Born on May 10, 1981, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Dalembert and his family immigrated to North Montreal when he was a child. After showing potential as an athletic talent in high school, Dalembert pursued basketball at Seton Hall University in New Jersey, where he played for two seasons before declaring for the 2001 NBA Draft.
Dalembert was selected by the Philadelphia 76ers with the 26th overall pick in the first round of the 2001 NBA Draft. Over the course of his 14-year NBA career, Dalembert played for six different teams, including Philadelphia, the Sacramento Kings, Houston Rockets, Milwaukee Bucks, Dallas Mavericks, and New York Knicks. He is best known for his career with the 76ers, where he played from 2001 to 2010, and was a key member of the team that made it to the NBA Finals in 2001. Dalembert's career stats include an average of 8.1 points, 8 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks per game.
In addition to his NBA career, Dalembert has been a member of the Canadian national basketball team, representing the country in several international tournaments. He also founded the Samuel Dalembert Foundation in 2010, which provides educational resources and support to children in his native Haiti. Dalembert retired from professional basketball in 2017 but has remained active in the sport, serving as the national team's ambassador for the Canadian Basketball Association, and also serving as the coach of the Canadian Special Olympics team in 2019.
