Scot Pollard is a retired American professional basketball player who has played for 11 seasons in the NBA. He was born on February 12, 1975, in Murray, Utah. Pollard grew up in San Diego, California, and attended Torrey Pines High School, where he started playing basketball. In 1993, he joined the Kansas Jayhawks basketball team and played for the team until 1997. During his four-year stint with the Jayhawks, Pollard earned several accolades, including the All-Big Eight Conference and All-American honors.
In the 1997 NBA draft, Pollard was selected by the Detroit Pistons as the 19th overall pick. Throughout his career, he played for several other teams, including the Sacramento Kings, Indiana Pacers, Cleveland Cavaliers, Boston Celtics, and the Portland Trail Blazers. Pollard's career highlights include winning the NBA championship with the Boston Celtics in 2008 and reaching the NBA Finals with the Indiana Pacers in 2000. He played primarily as a center and was known for his rebounding abilities and defensive skills.
After retiring from professional basketball in 2008, Pollard has been involved in various projects, including hosting a TV show, appearing in movies, and working as a commentator.
