Scott Skiles Autographs
Scott Skiles was born on March 5, 1964, in LaPorte, Indiana, and grew up in Plymouth, Indiana. He was a standout basketball player at Plymouth High School, where he led his team to a state championship in 1982. Skiles went on to play college basketball at Michigan State University, where he was a three-time All-Big Ten selection and the Big Ten Player of the Year in 1986.
After graduating from Michigan State, Skiles was drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks in the first round of the 1986 NBA Draft. He played for the Bucks for five seasons before being traded to the Indiana Pacers in 1992. Skiles also played for the Orlando Magic and the Washington Bullets before retiring from the NBA in 1996.
Skiles' career as a basketball coach began in 1998, when he was hired as an assistant coach for the Phoenix Suns. He later served as the head coach for the Suns, the Chicago Bulls, the Milwaukee Bucks, and the Orlando Magic. Skiles is known for his tough, no-nonsense coaching style and his emphasis on defense. He has won over 400 games as an NBA head coach and was named the NBA Coach of the Year in 2008.
