Scott Wedman Autographs
Scott Wedman is a retired American professional basketball player who is best known for his contributions to the Boston Celtics during the 1980s. Born on July 29, 1952, in Harper, Kansas, Wedman’s early life was focused on sports, and he eventually excelled in basketball while attending the University of Colorado. After being named NCAA Division-I Player of the Year in 1974, Wedman was drafted by the Kansas City-Omaha Kings and started his professional career.
Wedman’s stint with the Kings lasted for two seasons, after which he was traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers. It was during his time with the Cavaliers that Wedman began establishing himself as a powerful scorer, and in 1978, the team traded him to the Boston Celtics. It was with the Celtics that Wedman enjoyed the most successful period of his professional career, culminating in two championship titles in 1984 and 1986. He played alongside some of the most iconic names in basketball, including Larry Bird and Kevin McHale, and is remembered for his remarkable shooting and rebounding skills.
Wedman retired from the NBA in 1987 after a 13-year career and later worked as a television commentator and coach. He remains a respected figure in American basketball history, known for his intelligent play and dedication to the sport. His accomplishments include being named an All-Star twice, receiving the NBA Sportsmanship Award in 1986, and being inducted into the Kansas Sports Hall of Fame in 2014.
