Born on September 6th, 1985, Sean Singletary is an accomplished former professional basketball player from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Singletary's passion for basketball began at an early age, and he excelled in the sport throughout high school, earning the title of the city's Player of the Year in his senior year. Singletary then went on to attend the University of Virginia, where he played for the Cavaliers from 2004 to 2008. During his time at Virginia, Singletary became a star point guard, was named the Atlantic Coast Conference's (ACC) Player of the Year in 2007, and is still considered one of the best players in the program's history.
After graduating from Virginia, Singletary began his professional career playing for several different teams, both domestic and international, around the world. In 2008, he was signed by the Sacramento Kings in the NBA but was eventually waived at the end of the season. Nonetheless, Singletary continued to play professionally and was a key player for teams in Spain, Italy, Greece, and Belgium over the next few years. In 2015, at the age of 30, Singletary announced his retirement from basketball, citing his desire to spend more time with his family and begin a new chapter of his life outside of the world of basketball.
