Shawne Williams is a former professional basketball player from the United States. He was born on February 16, 1986, in Memphis, Tennessee, and attended Hamilton High School in Memphis. He is best known for his stint with the NBA team, the Indiana Pacers, where he played alongside legendary players such as Jermaine O'Neal and Jamaal Tinsley.
Williams began his professional career with the Pacers in 2006 after declaring for the NBA draft. He played for Indiana for two seasons before being traded to the Dallas Mavericks in 2008. He spent one season with the Mavericks, but his career really took off when he signed with the New York Knicks in 2010. During his time with the Knicks, Williams had his best season, averaging 7.1 points and 3.7 rebounds per game. He played 79 games for the Knicks, starting in 11 of them.
After New York, Williams played for several other NBA teams, including the New Jersey Nets, Los Angeles Lakers, and Miami Heat, before ultimately moving to China in 2015 to play for the Shenzhen Leopards. He played one season in China before returning to the United States to play for the Iowa Wolves, an NBA G League team. In 2018, Williams retired from professional basketball to focus on family and his personal life. He finishes his career with an average of 5.7 points and 2.8 rebounds per game.
