William Henry "Smush" Parker was born on June 1, 1981, in New York City, New York. Smush is a retired professional basketball player who played in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Smush Parker is known for his talent and exceptional ball-handling skills, which saw him play professionally in the NBA from 2002 to 2008.
Smush Parker's basketball career started when he joined the Fordham Preparatory School in the Bronx, where he scored an average of 20 points per game. Smush attended the College of Southern Idaho for two years before transferring to Fordham University in New York. In his senior year with the Fordham Rams, Smush averaged 16.3 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game. In 2002, he went undrafted in the NBA draft, but his basketball career was far from over.
Smush joined the Cleveland Cavaliers for a brief stint before moving on to the Detroit Pistons, where he played 11 games before being traded to the Phoenix Suns. He played 57 games for the Suns, where he helped them reach the Western Conference finals in 2005. Smush is most recognized for his two seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers between 2005 and 2007. In the 2005–2006 season, he started all 164 games and helped the Lakers reach the playoffs. Smush Parker was an exceptional athlete, and his contributions to the NBA were unmatched.
