Stacey Augmon Autographs
Stacey Augmon was born on August 1, 1968, in Pasadena, California. Augmon grew up playing basketball and attended Herbert Hoover High School in Glendale, California, where he helped lead the team to a state championship in 1986. After high school, Augmon attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where he played college basketball for four years.
Augmon was a standout player at UNLV, where he was known as “The Plastic Man” for his ability to contort his body in mid-air for spectacular shots and rebounds. He was part of the famous UNLV Runnin’ Rebels team that won the NCAA championship in 1990. Augmon was selected ninth overall in the 1991 NBA draft by the Atlanta Hawks, where he played for eight seasons. He was known for his strong defensive skills and was named to the NBA All-Defensive Second Team in 1994 and the NBA All-Defensive First Team in 1995.
Throughout his NBA career, Augmon played for multiple teams, including the Detroit Pistons, Portland Trail Blazers, and New Orleans Hornets. His final season was with the Charlotte Bobcats in 2005-2006. Augmon played in over 1,000 games throughout his NBA career and averaged 8.0 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game. Augmon also won a gold medal as part of the USA men’s national basketball team in 1996 at the Summer Olympics in Atlanta. Today, Augmon is still involved in basketball as an assistant coach for the Sacramento Kings.
